A simple chocolate cake with pears coated with melted dark chocolate, just right for cool autumn evenings.
INGREDIENTS (chocolate cake):
250g unsalted butter, in a room temperature
160g sugar
4 eggs
100g dark chocolate, melted
250g flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
25g cacao powder
80g oat milk
6 large pears
pinch of salt
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Mix the butter and sugar for about 3 minutes in a large bowl.
- Add the eggs, one by one. Mix on a low speed.
- Add melted but not hot chocolate and mix well.
- In a separate bowl mix dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, cinnamon, cacao powder and a pinch of salt.
- Add one-third of the dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture and mix on low speed until combined. Repeat the process.
- Pour the milk and mix.
- Line the springform cake tin (24cm) with a baking paper. Pour in the chocolate cake mixture and arrange the pears into the cake.
- Bake for 1 hour or up to the so-called dry stick in 180°C.

100g dark chocolate (70% cacao)
25g unsalted butter
pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
50g oat milk
